Why
Fetching Feathers?
If there is anything we have learned about being dog trainers, it’s that training the dog is only half the battle (The easier half). The second half, and most important, is educating, teaching, and training the owner. We have a saying around Fetching Feathers, “Our clients come to us as dog owners; they leave us as dog handlers."
Faith & Family Values
Fetching Feathers is a faith-based company built on a family mindset. We approach every dog, every client, and every interaction with integrity, humility, and care. Our faith guides how we treat animals entrusted to us, how we support our clients, and how we operate our business—placing love, patience, and respect at the center of everything we do.
World-Class Facility
Our state-of-the-art kennel in Larkspur, Colorado is a brand-new, purpose-built facility designed specifically for hunting dogs. Featuring a fully indoor, climate-controlled environment paired with expansive outdoor training grounds, our location is second to none. Situated on 40 acres of rolling hills, native grasses, and open vistas, with views of Rattlesnake Butte and the Front Range mountains, our setting provides an unmatched environment for both training and wellbeing. It’s not just where we train—it’s why dogs thrive here.
Catered To You
What truly separates Fetching Feathers from other training programs—both in Colorado and across the country—is client involvement. We believe great dogs are built alongside educated owners. Clients are encouraged to visit bi-weekly, working hands-on with our trainers to learn alongside their dogs. Each dog receives bi-weekly report cards detailing kennel behavior, obedience, and field progress, along with custom, hand-selected training videos sent weekly. This level of transparency, education, and communication is rare—and it’s intentional.
Elite Trainers
Fetching Feathers is led by Anthony Ferro, founder, owner-operator, and head trainer, alongside a carefully selected team of highly skilled, patient, and professional trainers in Colorado. Our staff is deeply committed to both dogs and owners, maintaining the highest standards of care and training. Expanding our footprint, Lee Browne, owner and head trainer of our franchised kennel in Halifax, Virginia, brings exceptional experience and leadership to the Fetching Feathers family—ensuring the same quality, values, and results across locations.
Owner Inclusion
Through weekly videos of our trainers working your dogs texted to you, to bi-weekly report cards breaking down your dog's progressions and digressions emailed to you, and finished with bi-weekly visits to see your dog and learn our program side by side with our trainers…. There truly isn’t another kennel going to offer this much inclusion and transparency.
