How Much Does Dog Boarding Cost in Colorado Springs?
If you’re a dog owner here in the Pikes Peak region, you’ve probably realized that finding a place for your dog to stay is easy—but finding a place you actually trust is a different story.
As you start looking into dog boarding costs around Colorado Springs, you’re usually looking at $35 to $60 per night for a standard kennel. But in my experience, the “base price” is rarely what you end up paying. A lot of places will nickel-and-fleece you for things I consider basic needs—like an extra walk, a midday potty break, or even just a little one-on-one time.
At Fetching Feathers, I do things differently. I believe in transparent pricing, rugged reliability, and providing a level of care that actually means something. Here’s a look at the costs you’ll see in the area and how we do business.

The Fetching Feathers Difference: Professionalism & 40 Acres of Space
Most boarding operations in the city are high-volume, “concrete jungle” facilities. Your dog spends most of their day in a small cage or a crowded communal room.
I built our facility in Larkspur on 40 acres of high-country land specifically to get away from that. While my background and reputation are rooted in training industry-leading upland hunting dogs, dogs of all breeds thrive here. When you leave your dog with us, they aren’t just taking up a slot; they are under the eye of professional trainers who understand canine behavior and drive at an elite level.
My Promise on the Facility:
- Performance & Comfort: This is a brand-new, purpose-built building. It’s rugged—constructed with concrete and modern systems—but it’s also climate-controlled with heating and A/C to keep them comfortable year-round.
- Room to Breathe: We have 20 spacious 4’ x 8’ interior runs with raised beds. It’s clean, secure, and structured.
- The High Country: We’re surrounded by rolling hills and native grasses. It’s the kind of environment that supports a dog’s well-being and keeps them calm and focused.

Your Gateway to the Airport
One of the best things about our spot is the convenience. We’re located just two miles off I-25 at the Greenland exit—right between Colorado Springs and Denver.
A lot of my clients have turned us into their “DIA Pitstop.” If you’re heading up to Denver to catch a flight, you can drop your dog off in the peace and quiet of the Larkspur hills on your way out, and pick them up on your way back home to the Springs. It beats fighting city traffic with a dog in the back, and it gives you one less thing to worry about while you’re traveling.
Breaking Down Our Rates
1. Traditional Boarding: $40 Per Day
I don’t believe in “a la carte” bathroom breaks. Our $40 rate is all-inclusive. Every dog in my care follows a structured routine:
- Sunrise Social Run: 20 minutes of morning exercise to start the day right.
- Breakfast & Dinner: We feed what you provide to keep their routine consistent.
- Midday Potty Break: A dedicated 20-minute break for relief and stretching.
- Sunset Social Run: 20 minutes in the evening to unwind before turning in.
2. Board & Train Add-on: $100 Per Day
If you want your dog to come home with sharper skills, we can put them to work. For an additional $100 per day, my team and I provide a formal one-hour training session tailored to your goals.
- Obedience: Heel work, “place” training, recall, and manners.
- Upland Training: For the hunters, we work on pointing, steadiness, and gun conditioning.
3. One-On-One Training: $100 Per Hour
I also offer personalized sessions where you and I work side-by-side. I want you to learn exactly what your dog is learning.
Owner’s Deal: If you’re serious about progress, buy five sessions and I’ll give you the 6th one for free.

Why Trust Us?
At the end of the day, boarding your dog isn’t just about the price tag—it’s about knowing they are in a safe, disciplined, and professional environment. Whether you’ve got a high-drive pointer or a family lab, they deserve a stay that respects their needs.
Why My Experience Matters for Your Dog’s Stay
Over the last eight years, I’ve personally trained well over 500 dogs and worked with clients from 27 different states. While my expertise is rooted in the high-stakes world of upland hunting dogs, the principles I use to build confident, reliable companions apply to every breed that walks through my door.
When your dog boards with me, they are benefiting from:
- A Professional Eye: I understand canine drive and behavior at an elite level. I see the small things that high-volume kennel staff might miss.
- A Culture of Discipline: We don’t just “store” dogs; we maintain an environment of structure and routine that keeps dogs calm and mentally healthy.
- Industry-Leading Standards: Folks travel from across the country because they trust my methods. I bring that same standard of excellence to our boarding program every single day.
I live and work at the intersection of passion and discipline. Whether your dog is here for a weekend of traditional boarding or a month of intensive training, my mission remains the same: helping them reach their full potential while providing you with the peace of mind that they are in the best hands in Colorado.
